A kind of fish caught off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, was found to have exceeded the standard of radioactivity. This is the second time that the radioactivity of fish caught off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture exceeded the standard after about two years.

According to Japanese media reports, a black fish named "Sebastes schlegeli" was found to have exceeded the standard of radioactivity. It was caught in a fishing ground about 8.8km away from the coast of Xindi Town, Fukushima Prefecture, with a water depth of 24m. After testing, the body's radioactive cesium content reached 500 Becquerels per kilogram, while Japan's standard for radioactive substances in food is not more than 100 Becquerels per kilogram. The Fukushima Fisheries Association has suspended the sale of the fish.

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 7.3 occurred in the sea area near Fukushima Prefecture. At present, it is not clear whether the radioactive substances of offshore fish exceeded the standard was affected by the recent earthquake near Fukushima.

It is reported that, possibly affected by the earthquake, the water level in the containment of units 1 and 3 of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant of Tokyo Electric Power Company has dropped by dozens of centimeters respectively. But TEPCO and Japanese government regulators said it had no impact on the outside world.
